Virtual Dice Roller

Roll up to 100 conventional six-sided dice or simulate up to 10,000 dice with any number of sides.

Conventional 6-Sided Dice

Roll from 1 to 100 standard dice.

Non-Conventional Dice Roller

Use any die from d2 to d1,000,000 and roll up to 10,000 at once.

Roll ordinary six-sided dice or simulate non-conventional dice with any number of faces. Every result is generated on your device and includes the individual rolls, sum, and product.

Formula

For an s-sided die, each result is a uniformly selected integer from 1 through s. For n fair dice, the expected sum is n × (s + 1) / 2.

Examples

Two six-sided dice

Possible sums run from 2 through 12. Seven is the most common because six different pairs produce it.

Three d20 dice

Choose 20 sides and 3 dice. Results range from 3 to 60, and each individual die has a 5% chance of showing any particular face.
Use the conventional roller for board games and the custom roller for tabletop role-playing dice such as d4, d8, d10, d12, and d20.

Frequently asked questions

Is this dice roller random?
The interactive roller uses the browser's cryptographic random-number generator to give every face an equal chance on each independent roll.
How many dice can I roll?
The conventional roller supports 1 to 100 six-sided dice. The custom roller supports up to 10,000 dice with 2 to 1,000,000 sides each.
What are d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, and d20?
The d-number notation gives the number of faces on one die. For example, 3d20 means roll three twenty-sided dice.
